Cargill

Overview
Cargill is a multinational corporation operating in the agriculture and food industries. They work with farmers, customers, and partners to provide food and agricultural solutions globally, contributing to the food supply chain's efficiency and sustainability. Our team worked on developing an app to access live quotes, book contracts, and e-sign documents in person with the customer.

My Role

I was the lead designer on the CRM portion of the Marketlink App and helped shape the design system across various business units. I collaborated closely with both the development team and Cargill's product owners to ensure that features were implemented in alignment with our design vision and business goals.

Design Process

We started the process with ideation, collaborative sketching, and mapping out the ideal experience so we could move into creating initial prototypes. I worked with the project stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of the contract creation process. Speaking with users helped us define pain points (such as no service when using the app in rural areas!) and understand their most important needs.

Prototyping

Before moving into designing prototypes, we engaged in sketching sessions to map out all of the variables within contract and user types. This exercise enabled me to create wireframes and interactive prototypes to gain feedback and iterate on the design.

16 million bushels later…

After a year of collaboration with the product and development team, we launched the app, taking the experience from a fragmented set of tools to a cohesive experience. Within a year of launch the app had over 16 million bushels of grain contracted and over 2,500 transactions.
